It will not help much. It's different from injury- or trauma-related inflammation. It's due to the metabolic imbalance. Therefore, it's better to apply medications such as colchicine or NSAIDs to inhibit the inflammation. And after the gout attack, take uric acid lowering medications such as Febuxostat.
