Sciatica is usually caused by compression of the sciatic nerve by the herniated disc. Since you mentioned that you have done the relevant operation, it is likely that the sciatic nerve was compressed in other places, such as in piriformis syndrome. You can go to the hospital and do the pelvic muscle MRI.
Hi Marie. How long has it been since you had this surgery? it's better to get an X ray or MRI, which will help your doctor to determine the causes of the pain. Common reasons are disc herniation, or one piece of bone or particle of herniated disc left in the surgery, which will compress your sciatica nerve. Thus, you are suggested to see the surgeon who performed the surgery for you.
