Yes, that is possible. Both chronic beryllium lung disease and MAC lung disease could cause similar symptoms of cough, sputum, shortness of breath, and so on. So your doctors need to do a lot of tests to discriminate these entities, including bronchoscopy and/or even lung biopsy.
