My dad died at age 80. He worked and loved to play goof in the summer heat.. He kept feeling this growth in his lower stomach.. Had ahora scanned and they operated on him immediately.. the surgeon said there was not much of a chance of success and the surgeon in Tampa Fl. Stated in his 22 years he never saw anyone with a 12.5 annurism. In two weeks at home he passed away. Not sure if he had severe pain or not but he could feel it. I am getting my scan today Tuesday 6/12/2018 in Howard Co. Md.
Hello, I'm sorry for your loss. Aneurysm is associated with Atherosclerosis, my recommendation is annual physical exam(ultra-sound) plus healthy lifestyle. You'll benefit from managing your cholesterol.
Kinda see the blood pumping scene. Is there any size standard of this aneurysm?
Yes, if the size of aneurysm is 5cm or more, it requires surgery to remove. Aneurysms that are found incidentally or by accident that are less than 3.0 cm(1.18 inches) do not need to be re-evaluated or followed. Aneurysms measuring 3.0 to 4.0 cm (1.57 inches) should be rechecked by ultrasound every year to monitor for potential enlargement and dilation. Aneurysms measuring 4.0 to 4.5 cm (1.77 inches) should be monitored every 6 months by ultrasound. Aneurysms measuring greater than 4.5 cm (1.77 inches) should be evaluated by a surgeon for potential repair. For more information you may click this
What is a stomache anurism?. Is it a tumor? Is it cancer?. Please help me with answers. My sister, who has one. And how serious is it?. And I'm going into stomache cancer. Is that also a tumor?. Brenda.
Stomach aneurysm is NOT a cancer. It's just part of an outward bulge of blood vessels. Early treatment can cure it. Stomach is cancer, malignant tumor, which requires treatment.
