My grandson is almost a month old how what can I give him to relieve his constipation?
Hello, if your grandson is breastfed, he is not likely to be constipated. Breastfed babies almost can’t produce any hard stools, because the breast milk is so easy to digest. At around one-month-old, babies usually start passing stools less frequently, so in such case, it can be that the baby’s digestive system is simply maturing. If the baby is formula-fed, the risk of constipation is higher. When the baby is truly constipated, you can try giving him a little bit of boiled water, possibly also adding just a little bit of prune juice to the water. (Not much, start with a tea spoon in total.)
My question: is it ok to give a toddler (15 months old) epsom salts- about 7 grains in a 1 cup measure of water)) for constipation? (Literally 7 grains, maybe 8).
No, infants and children under 6 years old shouldn’t use Epsom salt internally or externally.
Do i need to add water to juice with a 5 month old
Constipation is rare on 5 month baby with breastfeeding. If you breastfeed your baby, try to feed the baby more frequently. If your baby is on formula, or any solid food, please give your baby more water.
