Don't know the rationale but a study from Boston University said so, 20 cherries a day help lower gout risk, and so on...

Hi Jacob, how are you doing? I live in fear of having another gout attack. I've only had 2...big toe once, and my ankle the other. I hope yours has healed.

Hey Kyle. Have you seen a doctor? Normally doctors would order you drugs that could treat and prevent gout attacks. Limiting alcohol and exercising regularly could also help.

Is cherry juice good for swelling in your toe

Gout occurs when there's a build-up of uric acid in the body. If the swelling is due to gout, cherry juice may help as it reduces the level of uric acid in the body.

Take Advil or similar non steroidal pain killer and to reduce inflammation.
Doctor will recommend prednisone, a steroid, great acting drug to reduce swelling.
Hope this helps
