This may sound strange, but I have discomfort where the shingles were the first time a couple of years ago, but no outbreak or skin lesions....My nerves are shot and  I itch in the mornings...What is going on?
Hello, how do you determine that you had herpes zoster a few years ago? Did you go to the hospital for an examination? Has the doctor made a definite diagnosis? Differential diagnosis is a professional matter, many times doctors can not guarantee that their judgment is 100% correct, so do not simply rely on some symptoms to diagnose themselves, it may delay the treatment of the disease.
Can I get shingles twice?
I received the shingles shot 5 years ago. I then got shingles 4 year’s ago on my left forearm. Now, 4 years later, I now have shingles, once again, on the left side. This time it is in my armpit and in the crease above my breast. My friend has had shingles 3 times so far. My mother also got it twice. Please stop telling people that it is rare to get it more than once!
I agree, I've been dealing with breakouts for 15 yrs at least 3xs a year. It's painful and emba rrasing
I have Shingles 4 times in the same location -- back of my left thigh . The most recent recurrence was 3 months after my 2nd dose of the SHANGRIX vaccination. Yes, you can keep getting Shingles.
Absolutely! I am 57 years old and have had shingles many times since my initial outbreak at 26 years of age. They always occur on my right arm, from the wrist to my arm pit. I have had them more frequently since breast cancer treatment; chemo, radiation  and surgery in 2005/2006 with lymph node removal. I have them at least 6 times a year if not more. I have a calendar dedicated to shingles outbreaks. They have been confirmed as shingles and have caused nerve damage to the point that they don’t always form blisters anymore. I had the fist vaccine that came out but am very leery of side effects of the newest vaccine.  I’ve heard so many horror stories about it. Shingles have been a “normal” part of my life, I’m not sure I want to add to the misery with this new vaccine.
Yes can get more than once, I have gotten three times. In the last 18 months; and it makes feel lousy.
