I found a large tick on my shoulder last Thursday night. It was stuck tightly. Today I have red spots on my body and I seem to be getting more as the day goes on. Do you think I should go to the E R? I’ve also had headaches, muscle aches, nausea, weakness and fatigue. I just don’t want to make an unnecessary trip.
Hello Vicki, it's not going to be an unnecessary trip. Tick can transmit disease to human, some can be serious. You should go to E.R.
Can a person die from tick vever.
Yes, if no treated, the death rate is over 20%.
How long after tick bite di symptoms appear? I found what I think was a tick last Sat. I pulled it out ( after trying for two days ) it bleed,, a lot but there was no pain at all. It is still red. Should I call my FR. Monday ? Thank you.
A few days to several weeks. However, it's recommended that anyone being bitten by a tick should seek medical support asap. Some ticks pass diseases and they can be dangerous or even deadly.
I pulled a tick off and started having flu symptons and strep about a week later, I waited another week to go to the doctor and still had same symptons. I did not have the flu or strep and when I told him about the bite he said I probably had tick bite fever. There is still a red spot where I got bit 3 weeks ago but since it is not a bullseye it was not lymes disease. He gave me Doxycyline 100 mg and I have been taking it 6 days, same symptons and no better. He said take the medicine 10 days and if still sick go back to the doctor. Am I contagious? I have young grandbabies and hate not being around them.
Hello. It's not contagious. The infection from tick bites or even the lyme disease isn't contagious. It doens't pass from one person to another healthy person by kissing, touching, hugging, or through air, food, water. The only way to pass the disease is through a tick bite.
Show me a bullseye

i wish i knew  if that did  the  trick......i got  same  stufff   that  you had,,,,,and  beeen  taking doxycycline   for   2  days
Undoubtedly, doxycline is the first-line treatment fot tick-borne diseases. The disease per se does not spread from humans to humans. Ticks are the primary source for spreading this. Therefore, you should avoid tick bite on your babies.
Light headache, fever and chills, aching joints, continued low grade fever.
