I HAVE A QUESTION ON BACTERIAL MINIGITIS OF AN ELDERLY ADULT AGE 74. HE GOT MINIGITIS AND IT SEEMED TO GO AWAY AND HE WAS GOING TO PHYSICAL THERAPY FOR MANY MANY MONTHS. IF HE HAD GOTTEN TO THE POINT OF GOING TO THERAPY--DOES THAT MEAN THE MENIGITIS IS CURED. COULD IT POSSIBLY SHOW UP AGAIN A YEAR LATER AND KILL HIM?

Hello Deborah, usually when the patient is sent for physical therapy it means the meningitis is controlled. The meningitis doesn't usually come back in a year. However, it still can happen with certain incentives in place.

Yes, long-term high-dose aspirin can lead to duodenal perforation. Headache is one of the common after-effects of meningitis. So it's a pain reliever problem.
