What if you already have Lymes and you may got a reinfection. I found what I thought may have been another tick then got sick about 1 month later with most severe flu like illness plus I had a bullseye on my face. Then I had most severe headache ever imaginable and stiff neck. Short story - admitted in hospital . Told them I thought I may have meningitis but never got treated. Practically screamed in agony for 9 days. Would the meningitis show up on lab work?
Yes. For a definitive diagnosis of meningitis, you'll need a spinal tap to collect cerebrospinal fluid (CSF). In people with meningitis, the CSF often shows a low sugar (glucose) level along with an increased white blood cell count and increased protein.
Usually imaging test and blood test together can support the diagnosis.
