Hello, Mr Souther, to treat mite bites on the skin, or scabies, you can get some prescribed creams such as permethrin cream, benzyl benzoate lotion, sulfur ointment or crotamiton cream. More serious cases may require ivermectin as well as antihistamines, antibiotics or steroids.
Actually, I have got a mite infestation previously. I got rid of in following ways.
Firstly get Permethrin 5% cream and apply the cream at night from your neck to the bottom of your soles, being careful to ensure the cream gets into every single crease, under your nails — everywhere, because mites like to hide. Leave it on for 8-12 hours and wash off in the morning. Repeat the treatment 4 days later, and then 4 days later again. This is because the cream kills the mites but not the eggs which will hatch otherwise. Do this treatment a minimum of 3 times (they say twice is enough, but experience has taught me otherwise!).
Then wash all bed linen and clothes you’ve worn within 3 days of the outbreak in boiled water.
Remember that anything that cannot be washed or dry cleaned should be sealed in bin bags for 2 weeks (this includes shoes). People say 3 days is enough, but I wanted to be sure!
Wash all hard floors in diluted bleach every 3 days.
I believe you can get rid of mites by doing these things.
