Can astigmatism be caused by cataract surgery?
A cataract surgery can correct astigmatism, it doesn't lead to astigmatism. A normal eye ball is perfectly round so you can see clearly, when the eye ball isn't perfectly round, it's astigmatism. Some people are born with astigmatism, some develops when growing aged.
its the hardest thing ive dealt with.

Incorrect!cataract surgery can change the curvature of the eye causing an astigmatism or making an existing astimatism worse!
Cataract surgery can cause ,at least, increased astigmatism due to a change in the eye ball curvature with lense implantation.
Astigmatism can be ,at least increased potentially, by cataract surgery due to change in the curviture of the eye by implantation of a new lense.
Astigmatism can be,at least potentially,by cataract surgery. The curvature of the eye is changed sometimes permanantly needing further surgery! Check the liturature on the topic!
