What medicine is helpful for severe anxiety??
Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are prescribed for short-term and long-term relief of severe and disabling anxiety. Benzodiazepines may also be indicated to cover the latent periods associated with the medications prescribed to treat an underlying anxiety disorder. They are used to treat a wide variety of conditions and symptoms and are usually a first choice when short-term CNS sedation is needed. If benzodiazepines are discontinued rapidly after being taken daily for two or more weeks there is some risk of benzodiazepine withdrawal and rebound syndrome, which varies by the specific drug.Tolerance and dependence may also occur, but may be clinically acceptable, also the risk of abuse is significantly smaller than in case of barbiturates. Cognitive and behavioral adverse effects are possible.  Benzodiazepines include:

Alprazolam (Xanax)
Bromazepam (Lectopam, Lexotan)
Chlordiazepoxide (Librium)
Clonazepam (Klonopin, Rivotril)
Clorazepate (Tranxene)
Diazepam (Valium)
Flurazepam (Dalmane)
Lorazepam (Ativan)
Oxazepam (Serax, Serapax)
Temazepam (Restoril)
Triazolam (Halcion)
Benzodiazepines exert their anxiolytic properties at moderate dosage. At higher dosage hypnotic properties occur
My psychiatris has had me on lexapro for years when I suddenly came down with anxiety disorder. I had a previous doctor prescribe zanex and he had me on so much I overdosed. The lexapro is great and now I only take zanex if I feel a panic attack coming on.But I have learned to breathe real slow should one pop out of no where.
This is my problem but after the death of my husband 37 days ago I've been experiencing uncontrollable hand while driving this makes me more anxious and I take another xanax...I'm very concerned about addiction to xanax although ots all that works for me. I'm feeling it when driving wich is frightening.
Try Rhodiola rocea, a supplement. It's good for mood balance, you'll calm down.
Almost all psychiatric medications are addictive. If you just take xanax for a few months, it is unlikely for you to get addicted. Have you talked to your doctor? Your doctor may prescribe metoprolol to control your hand shaking while driving.

I'm a severe case of PTSD with anxiety. I've had a lot of testing even hospital thought I was in heart attack stage very painful blood test immediately done on my main arterie that leads to my heart..I fell sick without any knowing what was wrong with me at 27 yr age. I couldn't eat-sleep nor even go anywhere from my home. Except everyday for 2 wks going to my Dr. Emergency room & each time I was returned bk in my driveway bk home..I couldn't couldn't hardy breath and felt shaking inside out my body very uncomfortable for over a month. So I went to a special mental hospital for myself because no Dr nor hospital could find anything wrong with my health..as soon as the mental hospital immediately checked me in all I ask for them ws please help me fall asleep for at least 1 night. They gave me benadryl capsule & for the 1st time in a month I got to sleep that night. I went thru wks of mental therapy..group therapy & ways how to manage my panic attacks. But I ws also put on Prozac for depression it started working for me after 3 wks still in hospital but it made my hands trembling continues so the Dr put me on a B/P pill 1 a day to stop the Prozac tremble in my hands..
For my anxiety and PTSD I'm 57 yr age now I stayed n private mental health care & I'm now on 200mg of zoloft 1 dose a day & 1 zanax.1 in the morning 1 late in the evening..everytime I 1st feel my heart flipping beats on me or very anxious & with any kind of sound startling me edges..I know it's a PTSD & panic attack-so I will get up go to another room start doing something or if I feel I can't do that I almost always start quality breathing very slowly in & out my eyes closed & start meditation..best for me and usalley takes my panic attack away..but I also have to change something that triggered my anxiety going on a peaceful walk especially in the silence of the woods I will sit down & peacefully calmer & look at all the tress all the birds-squarls anything will catch my attention and that is the best anxiety-dpression or PTSD immediately help for me..I've learned my trigger points that effects me from my past & as a new day for my life that hs worried or hurt me..I've learned that sometimes even if im in a beautiful family or social environment when I have these attacks I can go to the bathroom a few minutes to relax my mind..or I might have to nicely excuse myself and leave. I make sure in all respect nothing is wrong..it's just I'm a little sick all of a sudden..not feeling okay jus sic
I feel sorry for you, Diana. Can't imagine how you're able to endure and fight against anxiety for decades. It's encouraging in some respect. I know it's hard because I myself have insomnia which happened without clear reason and just out of sudden. It has troubled me for years. I can lie on the bed and try to sleep for hours, or even the whole night but cannot fall asleep. At last sleeping seems like a frustrating thing, a complete torment to me because I would think about stuff like what if I can't fall asleep and the thoughts made me scared. However, after years I think I have got used to it, and don't feel so anxious as before. After all you need to accept the  fact that I'm different from the normal people even if it's not a good thing. And I think at last people all can survive their own problems, for they have to accept them when they realize they can't get rid of them. And I hope this can give you a little comfort. Hope you get better soon.
I got like a slight headache always get an my back been hurting , i been havin slow breathing , what can help with anxiety ?
You can see a doctor and probably he or she will prescribe you venlafaxine to relieve the anxiety. I am not sure whether your backache is related to the anxiety. If it doesn't lessen after taking venlafaxine, you may have a spinal problem.
Have you been diagnosed with anxiety disorder? You need to see a psychiatrist and get prescribed medications like benzodiazepines and/or receive psychotherapy for anxiety disorder. If it's just how you react when you get nervous, probably therapy would suffice. How often do you have these symptoms?
how effected is the medication!!is it fda approval??
Yes, both venlafaxine and benzodiazepines are very classical drugs that have been approved by FDA and used extensively in treating anxiety. They are also very effective
How do you tell that you have  a anxiety problem, because the last few months I don’t have the  motivation to do anything .
No motivation is not a sign of anxiety. It could be explained by other situations, such as you are depressed, or not very ambitious, or the goal is not attractive. The symptoms of anxiety are:

Feeling nervous, restless or tense
Having a sense of impending danger, panic or doom
Having an increased heart rate
Breathing rapidly (hyperventilation)
Sweating
Trembling
Feeling weak or tired
Trouble concentrating or thinking about anything other than the present worry
Having trouble sleeping
Experiencing gastrointestinal (GI) problems
Having difficulty controlling worry
Having the urge to avoid things that trigger anxiety
