My husband has a pulse rate of 40. He has been to a cardiologist and has received a normal EKG and every kind of heart test including a nuclear stress test. All were normal. So what’s up? He is a healthy 65 year old and had a heart attack 2 years ago and had 2 stents put in?

Both medication and myocardial ischemia can lead to the low heart rate. Is your husband currently on any medication? Some ischemia may not appear in EKG, a stress test will be necessary.
