If total cholesterol is 204 & HDL is 72, is the difference LDL? Is that very bad?
No. The formula of calculation depends on the level of your triglycerides. If your triglycerides value is under 174 mg/dl(4.5mmol/L), LDL = total cholesterol - HDL - triglycerides÷5. If your triglycerides value is above 174 mg/dl, then this formula may work better. LDL =0.8×(total cholesterol - HDL)-triglycerides ÷ 10. Please try to put your triglycerides value into the formula and get your LDL value.
