Just got my A1c numbers back 6.7 What can I do to lower that without having to go on medication?
You may try DASH diet or Mediterranean diet, and do regular exercises for an hour every day, like riding bicycle, walk, jog, etc. It's good to have a home blood sugar monitor to test it every morning. If you don't see improvement in the blood sugar value after taking healthy diet and exercises, you'll need to go get medication.
I lowered my a1c by cutting my carb intake.my a1c when I was first diagnosed with diabetes in March of 2018 my a1c was 14 I just had I checked again in May And it is 4.6
Yes, you can lower a1c through cutting carbs. And there are other ways that can lower a1c:

First you can eat whole foods. You have to cut out the processed and packaged foods because most of it is just junk. Eat as natural as you can, and eat whole foods that come directly from nature. This is very important because it not only reduces blood sugar levels and a1c, but works on the inflammation and metabolic problems that you have as well. So the result is way better than just trying to reduce carbs.

Then you can eat more vegetables. The key is to eat more vegetables, particularly the type of vegetables that grow above the ground, such as cucumber, lettuce, spinach, zucchini, tomato, green beans, brussels sprout, cabbage, asian greens. Vegetables contain many minerals, vitamins, polyphenols, and compounds that help nourish the body and lower blood sugar, a1c and inflammation.
What is A1c...
The hemoglobin A1c test tells you your average level of blood sugar over the past 2 to 3 months. It's also called HbA1c, glycated hemoglobin test, and glycohemoglobin.
People who have diabetes need this test regularly to see if their levels are staying within the ideal range. It can tell if you need to adjust your diabetes medicines. The A1c test is also used to diagnose diabetes.
What is 129 is that high
The number 129 is your blood glucose level. The normal value should be <100 when fasting and <140 two hours after meals. I do not know whether your 129 is tested fasting or two hours after meals. If it is fasting, it is abnormal. If it is 2 hours after meals, it is normal.
