My sister has silent reflux, and want to heal it naturally. Was wondering if Heatherstummy tammer will releive it. I use it for my acid reflux and ibs. But hers is silent reflux which is a bit different
Hi, silent reflux is also a type of acid reflux, supplements that reduce acid reflux can be good for silent reflux too. For heather's tummy tammer, I'm not sure though. Isn't this a bowel formula rather than a stomach formula?
I also have acid reflux, but my bowel works fine. Natural therapy is my choice. I took Mastic Gum capsules every day, it works well on me. I feel very good now.
The traditional supplement for acid reflux is enzymatic therapy, now they have something new. You know the stomach is like a jar with a cap, the cap is the sphincter which should stops the acid from going back to the esophagus. In people with acid reflux, the cap doesn't work right. Now they've found something called raft-forming alginate, after taking the capsule, the ingredients form a temporary physical barrier—or raft—between the stomach and the esophagus, so the acid doens't go back. This one works better than most of the acid reflux products. Your sister may want to try this. I think the price of such supplements should be very close.
Acid reflux, people have to quit alcohol and smoking, and restrict chocolate, mints, fats, citrus fruits, carbonated beverages, spicy or tomato-based products, and caffeine. Pleasure of life is gone.
I have silent reflux that is getting progressively worse.  The dr wants to inject both sides of my larynx so that it will close.  How successful is that and should I have it done.
The silent reflux is Laryngopharyngeal Reflux. I have never heard of a therapy of injecting both sides of the larynx to treat silent reflux. The treatment of silent reflux is similar to the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease. Individuals should avoid foods high in acid including coffee, caffeine, citrus, chocolate, garlic, tomatoes, onions, alcohol and spicy foods. Acid reflux is often associated with obesity, and weight loss and shown to help laryngopharyngeal reflux symptoms. Acid reflux medications such as proton pump inhibitors or H2 blockers may be initiated as well.
Are you sure that your doctor suggested to inject both sides of your larynx? Well, for me, also with severe LPR, I was suggested to treat it by medications. In addition, I was suggested to modify my lifestyle—quit smoking and avoid alcohol.
