What to do if a parent has a 2 month old child with RSV and a 4 yr old who has had strep and the flu for a week. The 4 yr old has been extremely ill and on antibiotics for 4 days. Is he more prone to develope RSV.
Hello, the causes of these two diseases are different. One is viral infection, the other is bacterial infection. To avoid cross infection in the future, it is recommended that you isolate the two children for a period of time until they get better. When immunity is low, RSV is more likely to occur.
