I am a 40yr old woman & a heavy smoker. I have hypothyroidism also. Several months ago, I had a bad case of pneumonia and had to be hospitalized for many days. Receiving doubled up IV meds around the clock & more. It turned from a simple cold to being septic in less than 48 hrs. Since then, I have developed severe pain in my back on the right side lung area. Like where doctors place their stethoscope to listen to your breathing at. It never goes away or eases up. It wakes me from sleep even or sitting up straight. I'm getting very concerned about it. Does this sound like possible cancer or something less serious? I don't have insurance, so if I don't HAVE to go to Dr. I won't, because I definitely can't afford it! I can't find much on internet to help me diagnose this. Everything points to cancer that I have found so far. Please point me they right way to go so my mind eases & I can possibly make the pain go away. Thank you!
As you described, there's nothing pointing to cancer, don't worry. Is shingles a possible cause to the pain? You may keep watching. Smoking isn't good and you'd better find a way to quit.
