Could someone hve this in other parts of vfc t by eir Brady as well as their eyes?
Yes, Ms. Sutherland, myasthenia gravis is an autoimmune disease that affects various muscle groups in the body. The muscles in the face, the neck, and the limbs can exhibit symptoms of weakness and immobility.
I had a blood test done & it said negative & my MDt told me : I do not have MG!!! However, my neurologist prescribe the “ mesotone” Med & it helps to feel less heavy on my Rt eye . How do I know if I have MG & what’s a side effect if I’m taking this med ?thx a lot. Kimme N
Hi, not everyone with MG show positive result in the blood test, especially when the symptoms occur only around the eye. If you feel your symptoms get worse over a period of time, you'll need to do the blood test again. There're other ways to test but blood test is relatively simple. The drug Mestinon - not mesotone, is basically fine, side effects are almost all related to over dosage. As long as you don't over take it, it's fine.

I have tested negative many times for MG. The only way to find out if you test negative all the time is to have a single fiber EMG test done! I live in Tennessee and this is done at Vanderbilt as there are only three doctors so I've been told in the state  that do this test and they are all with Vandy. I have what is known as seronegative  MG, meaning I test negative except for the single fiber EMG.  Which will be a positive if you do indeed have myasthenia gravis .  I hope this helps! I am learning how to deal with this disease rather than have it controlled me.
