I've been fighting for nearly 5 or so years ti be able to have my dig with me every where I go. My cog helps me in many ways. I am on disability for metal illness and need to know how to go about this.
My experience is to think about doing something for others and try to turn the focus away from me, my own life, my own body, everything about me. Think about others, do somehting for others. Then you'll feel relieved.
In Florida (and perhaps all of USA) you need to get a letter from a Licensed Medical or Mental health professional (I am. licensed Clinical Social Worker, for example). If you have a psychotherapist or Mental Health Counselor, ask them for a letter if they think you need a Service or Emotional Support Animal.  You may want to buy a Service Animal or Emotional Support animal vest. You can buy them online. It makes it easier for people to recognize your animal is a “helper” and not a pet.
