What Are The Symptoms of Feline Leukemia?

this site did not mention frequent vomiting.  My cat is being tested for FLV.
He has abnormal red blood cells.
Question:  he is 13 yrs old and has lived since birth with his sister, similar age.
Does she need to be tested for FLV if he has it?  Can I protect her now, or is it
pointless as she has always been with him.

I think she needs a test, a lot of cats contacted the virus but are not infected. If she hasn't you have a good chance to protect her.

Yes, the virus is transferred via saliva and other bodily fluids. Grooming, sharing water bowls, etc can spread it.

I just had to put my 1 1/2 year old kitten asleep. She had leukemia. Hurt my heart so bad. I have two other cats in the house. How do I keep them from getting it ?

Get the other two vaccinated, it'll be fine.

Not true. If they werent vaccinated pior to this they can still get it.after the fact is too late.

MY CAT HAD BLOOD TAKEN SATURDAY AT THE VET WHICH SHOWED HE HAD SOME TYPE OF INFECTION, THEY GAVE HIM ANTIBIOTICS & TOPICAL ANTI PARASITIC TREATMENT. HE HAS NOT IMPROVED. HE EATS VERY LITTLE & IVE NOT SEEN HIM DRINK. HES VERY EMACIATED... WOULD THE BLOOD SHOW LEUKEMIA ? OR WOULD THAT NEED TO COME FROM THE MARROW AS IT DID WITH MY SON ?

A blood panel can indicate abnormal blood cells. Let's wait for the lab test result, shall we? Leukemia isn't that common, there's a big chance it's not leukemia.

My cats blood test showed a low red cell count of 8.  He had a transfusion and the count rose to 16, I guess normal is something like 23. Still waiting test results for some type of infection due to a parasite which can cause a low count. He will be going for another blood test next week, was told if the count is down again it most likely is bone cancer, and advised euthanasia.
