I use two canes because of spinal fusion and numbness in both legs. I have recently had costochondritis. Are there exercises I can do to help the chest pain when I breathe?
I am not sure about this? does chest pain resulted from costochondritis? or other reason?
as to physical exercise, you should ask information from surgeon who gives you spinal fusion.

Spinal fusion L2-L5. Unable to walk with shoulders back. Could that effect upper chest strain? Costchodritis diagnosis by primary care dr. after ekg and thorough chest exam.
What is the treatment for this
Costal cartilage inflammation can often resolve without treatment.

Over-the-counter drugs that relieve pain include:

● Pain relief cream containing capsaicin or salicylate

● Some pain relief tablets, such as acetaminophen (trade name: Tylenol, etc.) or ibuprofen (trade name: Advil, etc.)

Your doctor may prescribe pain relief medications, including:

●1% diclofenac (trade name: Voltaren, etc.)

● Cyclobenzaprine (trade name: Flexeril, etc.)

●Amitriptyline (trade name: Elavil, etc.)
I have had this pain on the right lower part of my rib cage  for 11 years. It comes and goes, but within the last month, it has been constant unless I take Advil. I believe it occurred this time because i was moving some heavy crates. I have seen my doctor who prescribed Naproxen, but my stomach couldn't tolerate it. I'm hoping with limiting my movements that the pain will eventually subside.
if it's tolerable, you can try not take the drugs.
What is the difference between this and fibromyalgia?
Costochondritis typically causes localised chest pain, that you can reproduce by pushing on the cartilage in the front of your ribcage. Fibromyalgia can cause pain in bone and muscle all over the body.
Pain around the breat area under the armpit. It came unsudden about 3-4 days. Tender when touch, hurts when breathing and coughing, pulling, stretching and lifting
Is there any bump?  Is there any blister/rash or sign of infection? Is there any chance of over-strenching ? Do you have pneumonia recently? If the pain does  not go away in a few days, you should see a doctor.
I don’t mean to scare you but my cousin started having pain there and it was breast cancer. The tumor was back into her breast that she couldn’t feel but they have removed tumor and one lymph node.   She got into see the doc within a month of pain.  I hope I haven’t scared you but I don’t want you to let it go and it be cancer.  Please know I’m trying to help you.
