What type of treatment did you have
Alice Pegram

It depends on which type of cancer it is. Thyroid cancer or prostate cancer is less dangerous with a higher 5-year survivl rate, pancreas cancer or liver cancer is more dangerous. If you check this page, you might get some info you need. This is a statistic of 5-year survival for various types of cancers. The data was published this year.

I had adenocarcinoma of lung but after surgery called it malignant neoplasm what's this mean? I was given 1-5 years to live but told me got all the cancer. My bones and muscles pain and ache constantly. It's been 2 years since surgery. I dont understand the malignant neoplasm diagnosis. Nothing was done after surgery of left lobectomy of lung.

Adenocarcinoma is a malignant neoplasm. Neoplasms can be divided into benign and malignant. Malignant neoplasm is what we commonly call cancer.
The bone and muscle pain may be a sign of cancer metastasis, so you should see a doctor and get examined.

It's stage IV, follow doctor's advice might be the best choice. The first step is to choose a good cancer center. Next is to choose a solid medical team in this cancer center. Then listen to your medical team.

You have diagnosed endometrial cancer and have performed a total hysterectomy. You only need to follow the doctor's request with postoperative chemotherapy, and then return to the clinic regularly.

I had a lumpectomy in 2014 on my left breast. Was diagnosed with VERY HIGH RISK with DCIS of getting it again. I had a mammogram in October 2018, my diagnosis’s was Malignant Neoplasm on the left breast BUT the oncologist and breast surgeon both said that just to get a repeat in January 2019 for a diagnostic mammogram. I’ve been sitting on pins and needles for 3 months. Should I be concerned? I’m scared out of my wits! Please help with any info, thanks!

You will have a general follow-up of 3-6 months in the first year after surgery. Try to relax, unless you are not sure if there is a breast lumps again, see your doctor early.

And, this false positive occurs more frequently in women aged 40-50.

Hi, I hope this can help. The screening of mammogram isn't perfect, lately experts say some women with early breast cancer diagnosed by mammogram may never have affected their health. That's why your doctors both of them suggest to wait a year.

I also need to know am I supposed to have pain when I touch the area of the lump?
Donna Simpson

Usually a malignant tumor isn't painful until the late stage. However I think I replied the other day that mammogram has a high rate of false positive, that's why your doctor asked you to wait for a year.

Hi Ms. Hairston, as you know malignant neoplasm means cancer, surgical resection is recommended in this case, then you will wait for the postoperative pathological results for further evaluation and treatment. The lump is small, trust your doctors.
