Is your fasting blood sugar reading 129-154? Normal range for fasting is 70-130, your blood glucose level is high. The itching might be associated to neuritis, one of the complications of diabetes.
Is this like a sudden itch like when i take off my shoes or get home from work now my face also
No. The peripheral neuropathy in diabetes is usually chronic and can occur anytime. The acute itchiness in your case might be related with allergies. You need to find out if there's sth in your house or sth you wear that you may be allergic to.

how do I stop the itching
Manage diabetes carefully and prevent blood sugar levels from becoming too high.

Avoid taking very hot baths. Hot water can remove moisture from the skin.

Apply skin lotion while the skin is still damp after a bath or shower. However, a person with diabetes should not apply lotion between the toes, as this can work with moisture to attract harmful fungi.

Avoid moisturizers that contain harsh perfumes or dyes. Look for a product whose label that states that the lotion is "gentle" or "hypoallergenic." Some manufacturers create lotions specifically for people with diabetes.
