I believe my wife has suffered from two episodes of dilated cardiomyopathy. Two different EMS trips to hospital ICU of which the first was 3 weeks in hospital plus rehab then second time was 2 weeks in hospital and then PT. She seems better now but seems slow both physical and mentally. What should I do or not do to keep her from having another episode. She remains tired and doesn't sleep at night but tries to sleep during the day. She insist on driving and that really concerns me. Also her memory comes and goes. I need some help here about how to handle this. Fortunately I was here during both episodes. Hopefully she never has another. Thank you
Hello Mr. McCoy, these are early symptoms of dementia. Yes your wife should drive, try to hide the key. For the dilated cardiomyopathy, follow her cardiologist's advice.
