My dog has congenital heart failure, why does he sit straight up when he is having a breathing problem at that moment, when should I put him down ?looking for sign
Hi, your dog prefers to sit up because lying on its side makes it uncomfortable, it's due to the fluid build-up in the lung. Your dog might want to sleep in a sitting position so it can breathe better. Even if it sits up, the fluid build-up in the lung doesn't get relieved, medication is necessary to correct this. Just let the dog do what it wants to do, if it wants to sit, let it sit.
i am a doctor for human. i DONT know much about CHD in dog. A few kind of CHD in human can be TREATED by catheter intervention.YOU can search the medical centers which perform dog experiment for free procedure. lying down is not helpful, the dog can find the most comfortable position. DRINK LESS WATER maybe helpful.
How come a vet can be so concerned about your dogs health, that they call you outta the blue. They were checking on Cayuga, how thoughtful.  So I asked the vet, if something hand happens to her being on 6 pills every morning. So I nicely ask the vet, if there is an emergency   can I call and you get her right in I can write a check and post date it for the 3ed.she says I'd love to help you out like that, but unfortunately I would have to have payment in full!!! Are you kiddimg? Wow!!!
