I just went to give blood but they said that my iron was to low it was at 11.5. What can I do to raise it up.
Hello Luis, you may eat more iron-rich foods, e.g. red meat.
I'm trying to lower my red blood cell count to be able to donate plasma I drink water I avoid alcoholic beverages I avoid caffeine and I do not smoke how do I lower my red blood cell count so I can donate plasma are there any type of medicines from the GNC store that I can take?
Hello. Do you have a higher than normal red blood cell count? If so, you may need to watch out on this. Dehydration is a cause to higher WBC but it won't be after you take enough liquid. Higher RBC can be caused by certain diseases, including heart/lung diseases, and blood cell production disorders. My husband has iron deficiency anaemia. His latest labs show Hematocrit at 27.1, Hemoglobin at 8.2. He takes an iron supplement daily. What else can he do to raise the levels?
Maybe eat iron-rich foods.
