Can shingles blisters near the spinal column invade the spine itself?
The herpes zoster virus ,causing shingles, itself lurks in the dorsal root of the spinal cord. When the  immunity of the body is weak, viral replication increases along the skin's nerves., leading to blisters . It only affects the nerves and surrounding skin.
I had shingles about 6 years ago. I had a spot in the middle of my spine that had irritated me for years. It appeared the shingles came from that spot. I had lower back problems for more than 30 years. I solved both problems with one solution. I now have 4x4 under my bedpost at the foot of my bed. by raising the foot of my bed I sleep at about 2 1/2 degree angle. It has cured all my back problems & a whole lot more.
My doctor diagnosed me with shingels last Thursday, put me on zpak and valacyclovir,I'm still miserable and it's Tuesday, what do I do,ho back or what?
It takes time to get better. You can apply Calamine lotion on the rashes to relieve the pain.
Need to know if Shingles can come up inside the body.
Yes, it's called internal shingles. Shingles is the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, it's always along the path of a nerve. Instead of pain and blisters on the skin, internal shingles refers to reactivated zoster virus in an internal organ.
