Bowen's disease, or squamous cell carcinoma in situ, is a malignant condition of skin cancer.
It affects the outermost layer of skin (the squamous cells), and usually appears as a patch with clear edges on the skin.
The patch may be
- red or pink
- scaly or crusty
- flat or raised
- up to a few centimeters across
- itchy (not always)
