Chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), also known as chronic myelogenous leukemia, is a type of cancer that starts from myeloid cells in the bone marrow. The disease develops when immature myeloid cells experience a genetic change and grow out of control. These cancer cells grow rapidly and then spread to the blood. CML is a type of cancer that progresses slowly. However, it can also progress to acute myeloid leukemia (AML). AML grows much more quickly and is harder to treat. CML occurs mostly in adults and rarely in children. The treatments for adults and children are the same in large.   Keywords: chronic leukemia myeloid; chronic myelogenous leukemia; chronic myeloid leukemia; chronic myeloid leukemia+; cml; cml chronic myelogenous leukemia; cml leukemia
