Hemophilia, also known as the Christmas disease, is a blood coagulation disorder, which means a disturbance in the normal clotting mechanism of the blood. The disease is caused by the deficiency or improper function of factor IX.
Different patents have been developed to diagnose the blood coagulation disorder. One is called APC (activated protein C resistance) and the other is used to determine whether Factor V has any gene mutations, which can lead to thrombophilia.
