The first signs of hemophilia include easy bruising and excessive mucosal bleeding. These first signs usually appear at the end of the first year or at the age of 2 or 3 years. However, first signs of hemophilia may already occur at deliveries, circumcision or venipuncture, which causes bruising in the head, prolonged bleeding or hematomas and intracranial hemorrhage events.
Besides, babies who often bleed because they bites gums and tongues with their sharp teeth are likely to develop hemophilia. Bruises from falls can also serve as the first signs.
