Recombinant factor IX is the primary treatment for acute hemorrhage or presumed acute hemorrhage. When serious hemorrhage occurs or is likely to occur, the factor IX activity level should be corrected to 100% normal. When minor hemorrhage occurs or is likely to occur, the factor IX activity level only needs to be corrected to 30-50% normal.
