There is no cure for endometriosis, but treatments can help with pain and infertility. You may not need treatment when you have mild pain, and have no plans for a future pregnancy, or are near menopause (around age 50). But if your are not in the conditioins above, you may first receive conservative treatments. Then if there is no improvement, surgery may be recommended. The following are the options for treatments:
  • Pain medications: over-the-counter pain reliever, such as anti-inflammatory drugs to help ease painful menstrual cramps.
  • Hormone therapy: hormone medication to slow endometrial tissue growth and prevent new implants.
  • Conservative surgery: surgery to remove as much endometriosis as possible while preserving your uterus and ovaries; this includes laparoscopic surgery and traditional abdominal surgery.
  • Assisted reproductive technologies: procedures to help you become pregnant.
  • Hysterectomy and oophorectomy: surgeries to remove the uterus and ovaries.
Above all, you must underatand everyone reacts differently to these treatment options. You should turn to your doctor for your own best treatment plan.   Keywords: endometriosis treatment, endometriosis treatments, treat endometriosis, treatment endometriosis, treatments endometriosis
