Perhaps you may find that children get diarrhea more often than adults. In addition to loose, watery stools, diarrhea often brings fever, nausea, vomiting, cramps, and dehydration in toddlers. It causes great uncomfort to your toddler. Some of the most common causes of diarrhea in kids include:
  • Infection from viruses, bacteria and, rarely, parasites like giardia. When your kids have other symptoms like vomiting, stomachache, headache, and fever besides diarrhea, they may be infected by virus.
  • Food poisoning can also lead to diarrhea in kids. Symptoms including vomiting, usually come quickly, and  go away within 24 hours.
  • Other diseases also cause diarrhea such as irritable bowel disease, Crohn's disease, food allergies, and celiac disease.
As children are more likely to suffer a lot from the disease, you must take it seriously when diarrhea occurs. If you're not sure what's causing your child's diarrhea, give your doctor a call.   Keywords: toddler diarrhea
