People usually eat a lot at dinner since there's plenty of time. However, a good-for-health dinner menu should be as light as possible. More importantly, these are foods that you should try to avoid for dinner.
  • Foods Spicy & Salty
Foods spicy and salty may cause digestive tract discomfort, such as reflux or constipation. The discomfort of stomach may disturb your sleep. Furthermore, people often get too much when eating spicy and salty foods, and post-dinner time is not the time for burning calories to most of people, so eating too much at dinner causes fat accumulation. In a long time, this cause obesity and cholesterol problem. Too much salt intake also raises the risk of hypertension, and increases the workload of your kidney. 
  • Foods Producing Gas
Certain foods produce more gas than others during the digestive process, these foods include beans, cabbage, green peppers, eggplant, potatoes, corn, bananas, bread, citrus fruits, and beverages & desserts adding xylitol. Such foods may cause some people, especially the elderly, to feel bloated.
  • Alcohol
Not every doctor suggests to quit drinking, but alcohol is alcohol, quite a few recent researches have stated the bad effects of alcohol to health. Especially, drinking before going to bed can make snoring and sleep apnea syndrome significantly worse. Therefore, try to ensure not to drink within 4-6 hours before bedtime.
  • Greasy Foods
Greasy foods include not only fried foods but also high cholesterol content. These foods will increase the workload of the intestines, stomach, liver, gallbladder and pancreas. Especially, people with cholesterol level higher than normal or hypertension should avoid greasy foods at dinner.
