It is a chemical produced by the Clostridium Botulinum bacteria. Also called Botox, the toxin can result in a medical emergency called botulism. Although botulism is rare, it  can lead to paralysis and even threaten your life. Because it stops the muscle from functioning by stopping the chemical messages from the nerve to the muscle. However, doctors, in a few cases, use it in small doses to treat health problems, including
  • Temporary smoothing of facial wrinkles and improving your appearance
  • Severe underarm sweating
  • Cervical dystonia - a neurological disorder that causes severe neck and shoulder muscle contractions
  • Uncontrollable blinking
  • Misaligned eyes
  • Chronic migraine

When you suspect that you or your family members have botulism, seek urgent medical care right away .
