Hepatitis C is a serious viral infection. It will cause liver inflammation or even serious liver damage. However, many people don't know they're infected because they have no symptoms at first. Symptoms appear until the virus damages the liver to a rather serious extent. Here are some possible symptoms: • Bleeding easily • Bruising easily • Fatigue • Poor appetite • Yellow discoloration of the skin and eyes (jaundice) • Dark-colored urine • Itchy skin • Fluid buildup in your abdomen (ascites) • Swelling in your legs • Weight loss • Confusion, drowsiness and slurred speech (hepatic encephalopathy) • Spider-like blood vessels on your skin (spider angiomas) Please go to your doctor immediately if you have symptoms above. With Hep C one feels as if a vacuum hose was placed on the bellybutton and ALL THE ENERGY WAS SUCKED OUT OF YOUR BODY. Other symptoms include itchy LEGS,an itch that does not subside, yellow or orange nail beds, over time, fatigue. If one has a physically demanding job,(loading, unloading trucks), and an advanced stage of Hep C, you may get a day or 2 where YOU CANNOT MOVE!! This happened to me twice - akin to "the" most live corpse in the world. The worst aspect is the TOTAL loss of energy. KNOW your stages of Hep C, as Doctors will hve you take unnecessary medications that can cause more harm than good. KNOW YOUR BODY!!
