In fact, schizophrenia starts however it wants. It can start with a very long period of vague symptoms, or as a suddern obvious occurence. Symptoms of early onset schizophrenia are similar to symptoms of schizophrenia in adults. They include positive symptoms
  • hallucinations
  • delusions
  • disorganized speech and behavior
When symptoms become negative, you may experience
  • low energy
  • lack of interest
  • flat emotional affect
Possibly other symptoms may occur, such as
  • sleep problems
  • irritability
  • cognitive impairment (may appear in childhood)
  • difficulty telling reality from fantasy
  • social isolation and withdrawing from others
  • an increase in unusual thoughts, perceptions and suspicions
  • odd manner of thinking and speaking
  • paranoid ideas
However, any one of these early signs alone does not indicate schizophrenia. But when they occur at the same time, you have to go to the doctors for diagnosis. Also, remember, early treatment increases the chance of successful outcome. Keywords: early signs schizophrenia adults
