Acute posthemorrhagic anemia represents a condition where you quickly lose a large volume of circulating hemoglobin within a certain period of time. It is usually associated with an incident of trauma, a severe injury or a surgical procedure which will all possibly result in a large loss of blood. If you happen to be diagnosed with acute posthemorrhagic anemia, you need serious and careful treatment as soon as possible. Otherwise, it may have severe results. Some possible treatments include:
  • Taking iron supplements and making changes to your diet.
  • Increasing B-12 nutrients in your diet.
  • Blood transfusions.
  • Medication, chemotherapy or bone marrow transplantation.
