Diagnosis
Your doctor may let you have a physical exam and ask your detailed medical history. Other tests you may have including:
- Blood test.
- Tests of thyroid, liver and kidney function.
- Chest X-rays.
Treatment
There are different treatment options for pruritus depending on the causes. You may choose:
- Medications: such as corticosteroid creams, calcineurin inhibitors, antidepressants.
- Light therapy (phototherapy).
Other itch-relief methods also may be recommended.
