BiPAP stands for bilevel positive airway pressure. BiPAP device has a mask to fit over the patients’ nose, or nose and mouth. It builds to a higher pressure when you inhale and decreases to a lower pressure when you exhale, so it can assist the weak breathing pattern of central sleep apnea.
