Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder which causes breathing to repeatedly stop and start during sleep. Depend on the severity of sleep apnea, it can be classified into mild, moderate and severe sleep apnea.

So, what’s the difference between mild and moderate sleep apnea?

They can be determined on the number of apneas events per hour during sleep:
  • Mild sleep apnea: 5 to 14 apnea events per hour.
  • Moderate sleep apnea: 15 to 29 apnea events per hour.
