For most people they may develop hypertension for many years without any symptoms or signs. Even with no signs, hypertension will gradually do damage to your blood vessels and to your body. Some warning signs for hypertension include:
  • You are overweight, and your blood pressure continues to rise.
  • You are pregnant, and your blood pressure continues to rise after 20 weeks of your pregnancy.
  • You are over 65, and your blood pressure continues to rise. (especially for women)
  • You drink too much alcohol and blood pressure is higher than before.
  • You always add too much salt or sodium on your diet and blood pressure is higher than before.
  • You are not physically active and always feel dizzy.
  • Your families have high blood pressure.
