Generally speaking, the diabetics
who have eaten less than usual, exercised more than usual, or drunk alcohol may have hypoglycemia.
Other causes of hypoglycemia may include:
- kidney failure
- hormone deficiency
- certain tumors
- liver disease
- inborn errors of metabolism
- severe infections
- reactive hypoglycemia
- a number of drugs including alcohol
Hypoglycemia may also occur in babies who are healthy but have not eaten for a few hours.
