Ovarian cysts refer to the solid or fluid-filled pockets in or on your ovary. They are common among women especially for those who still get their period. In most cases ovarian cysts are painless and harmless. And they may disappear without treatments. But some may experience pain in their ovaries or abdomen. Here are some methods you may use to reduce pain:
  • Taking pain relievers such as opioids, acetaminophen and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
  • Taking hormonal birth control pills: prevent the growth of new cysts.
  • Surgery: for extreme pain.

I'm now 51 years old and I feel I need to sleep with a pillow between my legs like I was pregnant or propped up on my period disappears for months but returns lasting for 3-4 days like a regular period use to will I know if this is just menopause or cyst or cancerous or harmonies issues at this age. I haven't been to a doctor for 17 years since my last child and I never been sick but I am in pain and it's affecting how I sleep with my husband.   Should I go to the doctor...I'm scared!!!
You definitely need to see a doctor and get an ultrasound scan. An ultrasound scan will give you answers to your questions.
You'd better make an appointment with a gynecologist and ask her to examine your vagina, uterus or cervix and so on. In addition, abdominal B ultrasound can help exclude some diseases.
