The key to treating tachycardia is to check for the presence of a pulse, determine whether the patient is stable, and then treat the patient according to the patient's condition and rhythm.
If the patient has no pulse, follow the ACLS Pulseless Arrest Algorithm.
If the patient has a pulse, use the ACLS tachycardia algorithm to master the patient's state.
The diagnosis of tachycardia is based on the following three criteria:
the patient's heart rate is greater than 100 BPM;
the patient had no signs or severe symptoms of increased heart rate;
the patient has an underlying abnormal electrical heart rhythm.
