Poison ivy rash is an allergic skin reaction caused by the
sap soil
of the plant poison ivy. It is easy to diagnose your rash by looking at it without further testing. The treatments for the rash are usually self-care methods, and the rash recovers on its own
in two to three weeks
. The common home remedies you can take to control the itching and blisters are as follows.
Wash the skin thoroughly with soap and warm water, ideally within half an hour.
Apply an over-the-counter corticosteroid cream for the first few days.
Apply calamine lotion.
Soak in a cool-water bath containing an oatmeal-based bath product (Aveeno).
Place cool, wet compresses on the affected area for 15 to 30 minutes several times a day.
Take oral antihistamines, such as diphenhydramine (Benadryl, others), which may also help you sleep better.
If the rash develops into a severe and widespread allergic reaction, especially around your face or genitals, please go to see your doctors immediately. Keywords: home remedies; poison ivy rash; itching; calamine lotion

I had poison ivy, which covered my back, chest, arms, ears, face, hair. It was red and itchy. I was given a shot of prednisone and was prescribed Benadryl or Zyrtec. About 2 weeks later the rash went down.

Apple cider vinegar application can be made in three ways.
1. Apple Cider Vinegar Lotion
This method helps to tighten the body tissues and relieve the irritated skin.
1. Take one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and one tablespoon of water.
2. Now, soak a cotton ball or clean cloth in the solution.
3. With the soaked cotton ball, dab on the affected area.
Repeat this for at least three to four times a day.
2. Apple Cider Vinegar Compress
This method will instantly soothe the irritated skin.
1. For this, you need to combine equal portions of cold water and apple cider vinegar.
2. Apply this on the rash for 10 to 15 minutes using a clean cloth or cotton ball.
Use washed and sterilized cloth for this purpose. Repeat this process a handful of times every day until you see improvement.
3. ACV Spray
This method is a portable option.
1. For this spray, you need to mix equal portions of apple cider vinegar and water.
2. Fill a spray bottle with this solution and sprinkle on the outbreak several times a day.

You may dilute it with water and use a small spray bottle.
