Glomus tumor, also called solitary glomus tumor, or solid glomus tumor, is a rare neoplasm, which mainly found under the nail, in the foot or on the fingertip. The majority of glomus tumors are benign.
Glomus tumor usually presents small and solitary lesions, they are painful, especially placed in cold water. The tumor can also present bluish discoloration, and in rare cases, the tumors can appear in gastric antrum or glans penis.
In terms of the risk factors, sex and age can be included. Glomus tumor is more common in females than in males, and it is more frequent in adults than in others. Surgical excision is the preferred method for benign glomus tumors.
